Get ready for a major shakeup in the world of combat sports! The UFC APEX is getting a brand new identity!
UFC CEO Dana White has just dropped a bombshell announcement, revealing a five-year partnership with Meta that will completely rebrand the iconic fight arena. From now on, it's not just the UFC APEX - it's the Meta APEX!
"As we step into the new year, the home of Contender Series, Fight Nights, and Zuffa Boxing, as well as UFC BJJ, will be known as the Meta APEX," White shared on Instagram. "We've sealed a five-year deal with Meta, and we're thrilled to welcome you to the new Meta APEX!"
The APEX has been a cornerstone of the UFC's operations since its opening in 2019, but it truly came into its own during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even after restrictions were lifted, the UFC continued to host Fight Night events at their home base. Now, with the addition of UFC BJJ and Zuffa Boxing, along with an expansion to accommodate more ticket sales, the Meta APEX is set to become even more central to the UFC's operations.
Zuffa Boxing is already gearing up for its first event at the Meta APEX on January 23rd, the day before UFC 324. They'll return on January 30th and then host their third event of the year on February 14th. The UFC's first card at the Meta APEX will take place on February 7th for UFC Vegas 113, featuring a main event between Mario Bautista and Vinicius Oliveira.
But here's where it gets controversial... What do you think about this rebranding? Is it a smart move for the UFC and Meta, or does it feel like a missed opportunity? And this is the part most people miss - how will this impact the fan experience and the overall perception of the UFC brand? Share your thoughts in the comments, and let's spark a discussion!
