Startling productivity potential: the Galaxy Z TriFold may redefine how you work on the go. The device isn’t just a foldable phone; it can expand from pocket size to a full 10-inch OLED tablet, adapting to your needs in the moment. Whether you’re in a relaxed mood for entertainment or focused on work tasks, the TriFold is equipped to keep up, thanks to its sizable display.
Samsung initially highlighted that the Galaxy Z TriFold can run DeX on its own screen, placing it on par with Samsung’s tablets. What isn’t as widely noted is that the device can also function as a secondary display for your laptop or desktop. With the Second Screen feature, you can wirelessly connect the Galaxy Z TriFold to a Windows PC or laptop using Miracast wireless mirroring.
To enable Second Screen, go to Settings > Connected devices > Second screen. On your Windows device, open System > Settings > Display and select Connect to a wireless display. You can also trigger the Cast menu with Windows + K on your keyboard.
For extra control, install Samsung’s Second Screen app on Windows. It unlocks options like adjusting aspect ratio, auto-connection, and power synchronization. This setup enhances productivity: you can drag video previews or image assets to the TriFold’s display during media editing, or reference documents and web pages on the extended screen without constantly switching windows.
The TriFold also supports Extended Mode for casting your phone’s screen to an external monitor or TV. A missed opportunity, however, is a seamless tap-to-cast feature similar to the Pixel Tablet’s approach, which would allow quick media casting between Galaxy devices and the TriFold or Galaxy Tab with a single tap.
